Bareroot Plants

Our bareroot plants are field-grown natives offered in their dormant state, allowing for efficient planting and strong long-term establishment. This collection of trees and shrubs are suited for planting in early spring and late fall when roots are inactive and ready to adapt quickly to new soil conditions.

Bareroot plants are measured by height rather than container size. They are efficient to ship, more economical, and ideal for larger plantings. Once planted, bareroot plants prioritize root development, anchoring them well for access to the water and nutrients they need to grow quickly.

Our bareroot plants are grown on our farm in the Hudson Valley and selected for ecological function, regional resilience, and habitat value.
