Product Details

Wild pink serves as an excellent groundcover, producing abundant clusters of vibrant flowers that brighten the landscape in spring. Offered as potted stock grown in root-prune pouches, these plants are ready for planting throughout the growing season. The semi-evergreen foliage forms a dense mat, making it a reliable choice for edging or rock gardens.

Silene caroliniana, also known as sticky catchfly, features distinctive hairs along its stems that help discourage insect predation. Small, compact plants are capable of producing 50 to 100 blooms per season, creating a significant visual impact despite their modest stature. This native perennial is valued for its ability to spread and form low-growing mounds.

Wild pink thrives in moist, well-drained soils and performs well in full sun to part shade. It is suitable for habitat restoration or ornamental landscaping, where it supports local pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds. While it tolerates a variety of light conditions, it should not be planted in water-logged areas, as it can be prone to root rot. Mature plants reach 6–12 inches in height with a spreading habit.

The root system developed in our potting method supports efficient establishment when the plant is moved to a well-prepared site. Once established, wild pink is fairly drought tolerant and resilient in a range of garden settings. This potted stock offers a practical way to introduce early season color and ecological value to the property.
