Boneset (Potted)

Boneset is a resilient and attractive addition to the garden that supports a wide range of native pollinators. Offered as potted stock grown in root-prune pouches, these plants are ready for planting throughout the growing season. This production method supports the development of a healthy root system, helping the plant adapt effectively to new sites.

Eupatorium perfoliatum is easily recognized by its distinctly “fused” leaves and clusters of white flowers. In late summer, these blooms draw in numerous beneficial insects, including bees, wasps, and butterflies. The common name likely derives from the traditional use of the plant to help set bones, though it was also used in treating fevers and colds. All parts of the plant have low toxicity levels and should be used with care.

This species prefers moist to wet soil conditions, making it an excellent choice for rain gardens, riparian buffers, or naturally damp areas of the landscape. It is hardy in USDA zones 2–10 and typically reaches a mature height of 2–4 feet. Boneset performs well in wet soils where other perennials might struggle, providing valuable habitat and forage in wetland restoration projects or ornamental plantings.
