Product Details

Foamflower is a spring wildflower valued for its frothy, delicate blooms and attractive foliage that shifts to red in the fall. Offered as potted stock grown in root-prune pouches, this plant is available for planting throughout the growing season. The root system is developed to support successful establishment in garden borders or woodland settings.

Tiarella cordifolia forms a neat mound of leaves that remains attractive through the summer months. While it spreads to form colonies, it is not considered aggressive, making it a manageable choice for defined spaces. The foliage provides three-season interest, maintaining its structure until winter dormancy.

This species thrives in dappled shade and requires moist, rich, well-drained soils. It performs well as a groundcover in woodland gardens, along stream banks, or in shaded borders. Reaching a mature height of 1 foot with a spread of 1 to 2 feet, foamflower is reportedly rabbit and deer tolerant.

Planting potted stock allows for flexibility in timing and placement within the landscape. With a well-prepared site, foamflower establishes effectively to provide seasonal color and ground-level texture.
