Symphyotrichum novae-angliae
A beautiful sight in the fall, especially paired with goldenrod and other yellow flowering species. It begins blooming its bright, deep purple flowers at the end of summer and can provide a pollen source throughout autumn. A favorite among butterflies and a number of bumble bee species for long lasting blooms. Hosts the larvae of the Pearl Crescent and Painted Lady.
