Lobelia cardinalis
Cardinal Flower is a native wildflower that thrives in wetlands and blooms in the late summer. Its distinct stalks of bright red flowers are sure to bring hummingbirds and butterflies to your garden! Cardinal Flower is considered a short-lived perennial, and it self-seeds readily before the original plant dies back after a few seasons. Pairs nicely with its relative Great Blue Lobelia, which grows in similar conditions and blooms around the same time.
