Pycnanthemum muticum
A favorite here at Arthur’s Point Farm, we have observed more diversity and volume of pollinators, as well as other beneficial insects, on Mountain Mint than on any other plant on the farm. With a long bloom time from July to September, prepare to have the hottest spot in town in your garden. Although it does spread through its rhizomes, it is not nearly as aggressive as other species in the mint family. It can easily be contained in a small area. It features a strong but delightful spearmint scent and flavor. Use the leaves to make a soothing medicinal tea.
Zone: 4-8 (Map)
