Echinacea purpurea
This is a powerhouse of a perennial wildflower. Not only is it striking with its deep purple petals and red-orange cones, it is loved by so many bees and butterflies. We commonly find Monarch butterflies feasting on its nectar, and it also serves as a larval host to the Silvery Checkerspot. Its roots are commonly used as an immune booster and can help fight viral and bacterial infections. It is low-maintenance and has a long summer bloom time, making it a perfect addition to any garden. Makes an excellent cut flower.
