Prunus spp.
Hybrid plums offer beautiful and fragrant flowers in the spring, and a bounty of delicious fruit in late summer and early fall. We carry a selection of cold-hardy, hybrid plum cultivars (American and Japanese Plum; Prunus americana x salicina) grafted onto American Plum rootstock. Let them ripen on the tree and harvest when the fruit is slightly soft and smells sweet! It is recommended to plant at least two plum different cultivars to ensure pollination.
- Alderman: A cold-hardy cultivar that bears large, delicious, Japanese-style plums. The dark red skin gives way to sweet golden flesh! Alderman can yield fruit as early as one year after planting. Zone 3-7
- Toka: Introduced in the early 1900s, Toka is called the Bubblegum Plum because it’s sweet like candy! The beautiful red fruit has apricot-colored flesh and is perfect for eating, canning or making jam. Zone 4-8
- Superior: A cold-hardy, hybrid plum that produces firm fruit with sweet, yellow flesh. Zone 4-8
