Pyrus spp.
Beautiful showy blooms in the spring, fruit in the fall…what’s not to love? We offer European and hybrid pears grafted onto OHxF 97 rootstock, which is vigorous, productive, and resistant to fireblight. To avoid grittiness associated with tree-ripened pears, the fruit should be harvested when mature, but not ripe. Store at around 65 degrees to let them ripen before eating. The pear cultivars we are offering for 2024 are self-fruitful, though produce more fruit when another variety is planted within 100 feet.
