Juglans ailantifolia var. cordiformis
This is a variety of Japanese Walnut with a heart-shaped nut and thin shell that cracks easily. Trees may not grow true-to-seed with the distinctive heart-shaped nut. They are fast growing with beautiful, large tropical-looking leaves, forming a wide-spreading canopy. Although it is self-pollinating and will produce a crop of nuts from a singular tree, expect optimal production when at least two seedlings are planted.
