Crataegus phaenopyrum
A thorny small native fruit tree excellent for hedgerows and wildlife plantings. Produces small round red fruit in clusters that persist into the winter and are enjoyed by birds. The fruit can also be used for jellies and has high medicinal value. The showy, white flowers are thoroughly enjoyed by pollinators in the spring. Larval host of the Striped Hairstreak.
