Prunus virginiana
Chokecherry is a hardy and adaptable fast-growing native shrub. Its clusters of white flowers give way to tart, edible fruits. Many birds and mammals eat the fruits and use the shrub as habitat. Chokecherry can form a thicket, which makes it a good addition to hedgerows or as a privacy screen. Chokecherry is a larval host to multiple species of moths and butterflies.
