Corylus americana
Our native hazelnut is a perfect addition to your garden or farm. Exhibits a multi-stemmed shrub form which makes it an ideal plant around forest edges and in hedgerows. Plant for your own consumption or as a food source for many native bird species, squirrels, and chipmunks. Plant at least two for pollination. Larval host for numerous Lepidoptera species.

Habitat: Prefers full sun and moist well-drained soil. Will tolerate drier soils. Full sun for optimal nut production but will tolerate partial shade.
Growth: 15 ft tall, 12 ft wide at maturity.
