As the seasons begin to shift, we invite you to join us for our final Open Nursery Weekend of the year Friday through Sunday, September 12–14, 10am-4pm.
It’s a chance to shop in person, see what’s thriving, and connect with our team on the ground. We’ll have fall-ready native trees, shrubs, and perennials available and look forward to helping choose the best plants for your site.
Fall is one of the best times to plant. Cooler temperatures and more consistent rainfall help reduce transplant shock so roots can establish before winter. Come walk the nursery and prepare your garden for next spring with healthy, resilient plants ready to go in the ground.
On Saturday Sept 13, we’re honored to welcome two guest speakers who bring deep insight into the world of native plants:
- Claudia Knab-Vispo, PhD, of the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program, will speak about the functional role native plants play in our landscapes. From pollinators to birds to soil health, Claudia helps us see the web of relationships that depend on what we grow.
- Deborah Wren of New Leaf Ecological Landscapes will speak on native garden design. Drawing on years of experience, Deborah will share how to create intentional, beautiful, habitat-rich spaces that support biodiversity.
Whether you’re a seasoned land steward or just beginning to explore native planting, this is a chance to learn, reflect, and prepare for seasons to come.
Saturday’s talks will be livestreamed on our Instagram. Join us in person if you can, or tune in from anywhere.
