About Arthur's Point
Arthur’s Point Farm is a state-licensed plant nursery in the heart of New York’s Hudson Valley. We specialize in native trees, shrubs, and perennials for ecological restoration, holistic landscapes, and climate-resilient agroforestry systems.
We seek to create a more abundant world for future generations. We work to reverse the long-term depletion and inequitable use of natural resources. We plant trees, heal the land, and enhance habitat for wildlife. This makes the land more productive and resilient to a changing climate. It also makes for a nicer place to live, raise our children, and foster community.

The Latest from Our Instagram
We had a great field trip yesterday to @sprucehavenfarms in Auburn, NY to tour their #biochar project with the @cornellsoilhealthlab. Dr. Johannes Lehman and his team have been developing systems for turning the manure digestate from their on-farm biogas reactor into nutrient-rich biochar and testing it in their silage corn fields instead of spreading liquid manure. Scaling up this system would reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency, reduce cost, lessen pollution, and improve soil health. The work of the Lehmann Lab testing different feedstocks and processes for making nutrient-rich biochar could revolutionize how large livestock farms reduce #carbonemissions and more.

Many thanks to Doug Tallamy for leading walks at Arthur’s Point Farm the past couple of days with @columbialand and @new_leaf_ecological_landscapes. Doug’s expertise in entomology, ecology, and hands-on conservation has inspired many of us through his @homegrownnationalpark movement. He teaches us the essential links between #nativeplants and #ecologicalhealth. He motivates us to bring nature home by shrinking our lawns, clearing invasive species and planting keystone native species wherever we can. Thanks to everyone who came out for the walks and for a fascinating couple of days!

Come hear our stellar guest speakers and #native plant experts next Saturday 9/13 10:30am during our Open Nursery Weekend! (Or watch live on Instagram.)
Claudia Knab-Vispo, PhD Field Botanist and educator with the #hawthornevalley Farmscape Ecology Program, will speak on the #ecological role of #nativeplants and why they matter now more than ever.
Deborah Wren, Landscape Designer and Operations Manager at #newleafecolandscapes, will share her insights on #nativeplantdesign, from garden layout to year-round habitat and beauty.
Registration recommended but not required (link in bio).

Sounds like August to me. It’s easy to get lost in the drone of cicadas, watching the bumblebees and flies doing their important work.

Agroforestry: A Natural Climate Solution
Integrating trees and perennial plants with livestock and annual crops can increase a farm’s productivity and profitability over time. It makes the land more resilient to increasingly volatile weather associated with climate change. It also makes farming more sustainable and in balance with nature. Our bare-root nursery provides the highest quality trees, shrubs, and perennial wildflowers. Our biochar enhances soil structure, fosters beneficial microbes, and sequesters carbon. And our design expertise keeps the land whole. Find out more about how we can help your farm grow.
It was a great experience!
I am also grateful for the guidance, support and knowledge the Arthur's Point people share with the community. Lucky to have them in our orbit!!!
(and they're really nice!!!)
