Salix interior
An excellent choice for stabilizing soil in riparian areas. This shrubby native willow will establish easily through cuttings and spread quickly once established. Its dense, shrubby growth can provide shelter for birds and small mammals. Arguably one of the easiest plants to grow, it will tolerate drought and thrive in standing water. Larval host for the Mourning Cloak and Viceroy.

Habitat: Well-drained, sandy soils. Drought tolerant and can thrive in flooded areas. Full sun to part shade.
Growth: 7 ft wide, 10 ft tall at maturity. Will spread into dense thickets.
